Hi there

About this site

I write about the skills you need to become good at anything. These are skills that underpin everything else. How do you expect to be good at something if you don't know anything about skill acquisition?

Reaching your goals and getting the life you want is mostly about consistently making the right choices. How do you expect to make informed choices with your life if you're committing the same logical fallacies as everyone else?

"Learning how to learn" might sound like a silly phrase. But it's real. If you ignore improving your ability to learn you decrease your chances of reaching all your ambitious goals.

Out of all everything that is written about these subjects, there is only a fraction of it that is truly life-changing. On this site, I try to cut through the noise and share my insights on what really works instead of just reiterating what everyone else is saying.

There are a few subjects that I think covers this better than others:

About Sindre

The short version

I'm a filmmaker, multi-instrumentalist and co-founder of Duett. I'm learning about physics and computer science in my spare time.

The long version

What do you get when you cross a performer with someone who has a deep interest in science, innovation and deep thinking? You get someone who doesn't quite know what to answer next time someone asks "so, what do you do?".

This question doesn't always have a single answer.

The world needs two kinds of people; those with narrow, specialist skills, and those who are articulate in a broader range of subjects. Even though both personality types are legit ways of living a life, people still get confused when meeting people who do more than one thing.

I am a strong believer in cross-disciplinary thinking and the Medici effect. As someone who pursues different fields, I want to give you my insights on how you can do the same.

One of my most important life lessons

In some situations, I am one of the most serious people I know. And at the same time, I have only met a few people who are sillier than myself. I embody both of these traits. No matter how intensely I value the serious pursuit of finding solutions for a sustainable world, I can't get rid of my slightly quirky personality. After many years of battling these two sides of myself I realised one of the most important things about life:

When trying to figure out what role you should take on in the world, you need to figure out how your unique blend of skills and personality can transform you into the best version of yourself. The outcome of doing this successfully is much more powerful than trying to become an inferior version of someone that you admire. Too many people fall into that trap. You can get so much further in your life if you find out specifically who you are by taking the things you are naturally good at and riff off that. Before going the path of most resistance, you should seriously consider if that is genuinely the best use of your time.

This usually takes a lot of work and introspective thinking. On this website, I'm doing my best to break down the process for you.

Now you know who I am. But I still don't know anything about you. If you want to tell me, you can get in touch with me here.
